Dunfermline Abbey
‘Dunfermline Abbey’ hand painted ladybird on original 19th century etching. Original 19th century etchings form a 150 year link to a vastly different time in Scottish history. The idealised scenes of castles and ruins have new hyper-real interventions added to them. Bees, butterflies, beetles, and birds within these pieces are meticulously painted utilising hair line brushes. The scale of these new additions has been vastly altered to the point of impossibility, and yet they appear to interact with the scenes. This leads to the viewer questioning everything about the artwork.
Size- 380(H) x 430mm (W) (framed). Please note there is a small dent to the left hand side of the frame, this does not affect the look of the painting but the price has been adjusted accordingly.
